Westchester Pediatric
Dentistry has two doctors, each of whom
is a certified specialist in
pediatric dental care.

Dr.
Ann Madigan
Dr. Madigan is the recipient of the Dental Association's highest
award, the Medal of Honor, for excellent service to the profession. A Board
Certified Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Ann Madigan holds diplomas from the
Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the University of
Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey, and also from Karolinska
Institute (the renowned medical research institute in Stockholm,
Sweden). In addition to Dr. Madigan’s dental degree, she has a
Masters in Oral Biology and a specialist certificate in Pediatric
Dentistry.
Dr. Madigan has taught Pediatric Dentistry at the dental school and
has published articles in both local and international dental
journals. Her research in pediatric dentistry has been used for
continuing education of dentists who treat children. She has been a
contributing editor to a pediatric medical journal and is a regular
contributor to her local dental journal. Dr. Madigan presents continuing education classes for local dentists
on managing
children’s behaviors during treatment and on preventing oral disease
in children. She is one of the few pediatric dentists certified by
New York State to treat children under sedation in her office,
sparing families the need for extra hospital costs.
Dr. Madigan is past president of the White Plains Dental Forum,
currently serves on the board of local chapter of the American
Dental Association and on the board of the Scarsdale Dental Society.
Dr. Madigan’s older son went through the Harrison public schools and
on to Harvard. Her younger son attended Harrison schools and went on
to Princeton. Both boys are seen lending a helping hand in the
office upon occasion. Dr. Madigan’s husband of close to thirty years
is a corporate lawyer in Manhattan. Dr. Madigan provides charity care
around the world.
Dr. Minerva
Patel
Dr. Minerva Patel is also
a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She has worked
together with Dr. Madigan in different capacities since
the early nineties. Dr. Patel was born and raised in
Harrison, New York and attended local schools. After
receiving her dental degree from NYU, Dr. Patel
specialized in pediatrics at Lutheran Medical Center,
where she was appointed chief resident. She has taught
residents Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Patel has extensive
training in pediatric facial growth and development, as
well as interceptive orthodontics. She is also certified
by New York State to treat children under sedation in an
office setting.
Dr. Patel is an active
member of the American Dental Association and the
American
Academy
of Pediatric Dentistry and has won several research
awards. She organizes continuing education for dentists
in Scarsdale, Northern Westchester, and Eastchester. Dr.
Patel also presents continuing education classes on
different topics in pediatric dentistry for dentists.
She currently serves on the board of the American Dental
Association’s organization as a Delegate to the New York
Dental Association and also as vice-chair of the
Membership Committee. She is the past chair of the New
Dentist
committee
and helped to diversify the membership of the Ninth
District Dental Association. Dr. Patel was a delegate to
the International Pediatric Dentistry Convention in
Spain, where topics of discussion included “Behavior of
Children during Dental Care” and Sedation Criteria”.
Dr. Patel enjoys exercising, cooking, reading and is an
avid traveler.
